A true gem of the Southwest! Boyce Thompson Arboretum is 392 acres of breathtaking landscapes that contain 3900 different species of plants, situated 2431 feet above sea level, about 60 miles east of Phoenix. 3 miles of trails take you through a variety of lush gardens. We have visited several times and it always seems there is something new to see, no matter what time of year you visit. There are frequent wildlife visitors including birds, snakes, lizards and insects. There is an entrance fee of $15 for adults/$5 for children. The annual memberships, however, are worth it starting at $60. Once you pay for entry there is no additional photography permit needed. Words cannot express the true beauty of this area, so enjoy these images and make sure to put this location on your Arizona photography bucket list! As always we want to remind you of the importance of respecting all these locations and wildlife. It's up to us as a community to set an example. If we don't clean up after ourselves or act disrespectful we are going to lose accessibility to so many places. Please do your best to leave no trace behind and respect each other as fellow photographers and explorers as we share these spaces.
