We preface this blog by saying if you plan on selling your images for commercial use this is not the place for you to photograph. However, if you are willing to ask permission and are photographing for personal use this Ghost Town is a great place to visit. There is no charge to enter the Ghost Town, however charges may apply depending on what activities you choose to enjoy. Personally, we enjoy the saloon. The outside patio is a great place to sip on a cold beer or prickly pear margarita, eat some delicious food and enjoy one of the greatest views of the Superstition Mountains. Often they'll have live music and it's fun watching many of the locals ride their horses up to the saloon. We chose to take our meetup to do some night photography there, which did require permission. It is not recommend photograph on their property after hours as they do have residents that live on the property along with proper security in place. Even if you do not go for photography, it is a great spot for out of town visitors to learn the history of mining in the area, watch a shoot-out, pan for gold, zipline, take a train ride, and just enjoy an afternoon of Southwestern fun! As always we want to remind you of the importance of respecting all these locations and wildlife. It's up to us as a community to set an example. If we don't clean up after ourselves or act disrespectful we are going to lose accessibility to so many places. Please do your best to leave no trace behind and respect each other as fellow photographers and explorers as we share these spaces.
