If you are looking for a place to watch the sunrise or sunset over the city, this is the place for you. South Mountain Preserve has 50 miles of hiking, horseback riding and bike trails for you to explore with your camera in hand. For those who prefer a more leisurely day you can drive up the main road to Dobbins Point, the highest point in the park at 2330 feet. Here you can take in views of the entire valley. At the base of the park, right before entering there is a popular spot called Scorpion Gulch for portrait photography. Before visiting we would recommend checking this page for any park closures. As always we want to remind you of the importance of respecting all these locations and wildlife. It's up to us as a community to set an example. If we don't clean up after ourselves or act disrespectful we are going to lose accessibility to so many places. Please do your best to leave no trace behind and respect each other as fellow photographers and explorers as we share these spaces.
