Tonight I started watching the 3rd season of Tales by Light on Netflix. I highly recommend you check out all three seasons.. very inspirational and motivational to do what you dream to do with your craft.
Nonetheless, the series also brings out all the missed or fallen short dreams I have had in my life around my craft. Most of my childhood was plagued with "you can't do that" and "what are you stupid" from many around me.. and that quickly became a mantra in my mind about myself. You see I have loved photography for almost all of my life. I can remember picking up my first 35 mm point and shoot when I was 10 years old. I deeply fell in love with photography in high school... and when it came time to move on to college, all I wanted to do was major in photography. When I was again reminded that I would just "fail" in that too and I could never support a family with that career, I again pushed my passion for photography to the back corner. Watching every episode reminds me that there are others out there, making a difference, believing in themselves, and DOING their craft! It also reminds me that there are those that know the craft, work the craft, and they aren't the ones on social media arguing which camera is best, they are the ones in the field doing what their hearts are beating to do!
So tonight, embrace your craft, and if are serious about creating images with a greater purpose... then get to clicking!
Happy Clicking & always believe in yourself!
