A favorite Arizona activity of photographers and wild life enthusiasts both is experiencing the beauty of the Salt River Wild Horses as they come down to cool off in the chilly water of the river. One can sit for hours and watch them interact and play with each other. Some days you'll just catch them uneventfully grazing, while other days you get to see them swimming, playing while you get to learn and experience band behaviors through observation. Our horses are looking a bit skinny this year due to an extreme drought (74% of the state is experiencing an extreme drought, while 16% is experiencing an exceptional drought). The Salt River Wild Horse Management Group is in the process of raising funds for an emergency feed program. They have been bringing semi-loads of hay down to the river at $7000/load. You can find them on Facebook if you want and are able to help!
