This location is very popular among family photographers, especially in the fall. The 110 acre preserve contains 70 acres of water recharge basins, 4.5 miles of walking trail, an observatory, gardens, and many species of birds, fish, reptiles and amphibians. Although it is a popular spot of photographing portraits, there is plenty of room for photographers to spread out. In addition to portrait photography, the preserve is the place to go in Arizona for those who enjoy photographing birds. We enjoy meeting our community photo group early in the morning for photographing the birds at sunrise and then heading to breakfast (a nearby suggestion is the Hen House Cafe. As always we want to remind you of the importance of respecting all these locations and wildlife. It's up to us as a community to set an example. If we don't clean up after ourselves or act disrespectful we are going to lose accessibility to so many places. Please do your best to leave no trace behind and respect each other as fellow photographers and explorers as we share these spaces.
